How do I open Ruja Guard?
Select the extension icon or press Command–Shift–U on macOS and Ctrl–Shift–U elsewhere. Chrome opens the Ruja Guard side panel.
Why does a review start with nothing selected?
Detection is a suggestion, not consent to change your text. Choose individual rows or use Select all, then inspect the protected preview. Candidate findings deserve extra care because they have weaker structural evidence.
What if Ruja Guard misses something?
Open “Add something detection missed” in the review, enter the exact value, choose a placeholder type and add it. Every exact match in that review is included and selected locally. If the value only partly overlaps an existing finding, Ruja Guard stops without changing the review so you can select that finding or use a more specific value. For a client, codename or product you use repeatedly, add it to the encrypted private dictionary instead.
How do I restore an AI answer?
Keep the current Ruja Guard session open. Copy the AI answer containing Ruja placeholders, open Restore, paste it there and choose Restore locally. Clear and lock deliberately forgets the active placeholder map, so tokens cannot be restored afterward.
Can my dictionary passphrase be recovered?
No. Ruja Guard has no account or recovery server. Keep the passphrase safe. If it is lost, we cannot unlock the encrypted dictionary. Encrypted backup and import are planned for a later release rather than being rushed into the first version.
Does it work in incognito?
When extension access is enabled for incognito, Safe Paste works with a separate session-only dictionary. The encrypted regular-profile dictionary is not opened in the private window.
Which data is detected today?
The first release checks email addresses, validated IBANs and payment-card numbers, Swedish personnummer and coordination numbers, Danish CPR candidates, Lithuanian personal codes, bearer tokens, JWT-shaped values, assigned secrets and PEM private keys. The private dictionary covers organisation-specific names and identifiers. Detection can still miss values.
Which browsers are supported?
Ruja Guard is prepared for Chrome 116 or later. Edge compatibility uses the same Manifest V3 codebase but is not part of the initial store release. Firefox and Safari are not currently supported.
